Yes, Toronto Batman is a real guy.  Yes, he is commonly seen in and around Dundas Square and many surrounding retail establishments.  Yes, he has a thing for beef jerky and spends a lot of time telling strangers that his parents are dead.  Is he bizarre?  Is he awesome?  Is he, in fact, the night?  Who can say?  He is...Toronto Batman.

Lyrics
Toronto Batman
In Toronto,
Life can sometimes be cruel,
Or can leave you
Feeling a bit of a fool.
You can't know
What each day will bring.
If anything's certain, it's
You can't predict anything.

But there's one hero
Who's shown us the way,
Fighting the good fight
From dusk until day,
Standing up for us
From dawn until dusk
As long as he has
Somewhere he can busk:

Toronto Batman,
You will protect us.
We see you lurking
In Dundas Square.
Your parents are dead, but
You've got your beef jerky.
Toronto Batman,
We know that you care.

He's like Batman
But kind of Canadian too.
If you meet him,
He'll tell his story to you.
And then he
Will tell it again,
And he'll follow you, telling
His story incessantly. Then

You take the subway
And he takes it too;
You stop for snacks and
He challenges you.
Where else in this country
Has anyone found
A Dark Knight who's willing
To trail you around?

Toronto Batman,
You will protect us.
We see you lurking
In Dundas Square.
Your parents are dead, but
You've got your beef jerky.
Toronto Batman,
We know that you care.

He saves us from beef-jerky vendors
Who overcharge.
He fights for the right to shoot video
On Queen Street West.
He rides the subway with Toronto
Spider-Man
So they can determine which one does
Backflips best
(It's probably Spider-Man).

In Toronto,
You may lose your way
And find it quite difficult
To get through the day,
But you know
If you head downtown
You'll find someone
Who will possibly not let you down.

His voice is raspy
But startlingly loud.
He collects loonies
From the Saturday crowd.
He is on Facebook
And Twitter and stuff.
That makes him awesome.
We can't get enough

Of

Toronto Batman,
You will protect us.
We see you lurking
In Dundas Square.
Your parents are dead, but
You've got your beef jerky.
Toronto Batman,
We know that you care.
Toronto Batman,
We know that you care.
